Dear valued subscribers, advertisers & friends–
We sincerely apologize for the delivery delays that have been occurring with the Winter issue of The Draft Horse Journal over the past few weeks. We recognize that this is an inconvenience and frustration to most. Please know that we are doing everything on our end to keep things running smoothly and on schedule.
As you know, The DHJ is delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. Throughout the year, the USPS does an exceptional job distributing the magazine for us. Officially, the delivery time-frame for this type of mailing is 2 weeks, but oftentimes the USPS has the magazine in our subscribers' hands within 2 to 3 days! During the busy holiday season, a bit of a delay is to be expected as holiday mail volume increases (packages, Christmas Cards, etc). Unfortunately, this year the USPS is reporting unprecedented volume and significant delays for two reasons—COVID-19 related staffing shortages, and a huge increase in holiday packages and internet orders. Publications and businesses across the country are experiencing similar delays to ours.
Rest assured The DHJ was printed and mailed, and we have not taken subscribers off the mailing list. The Winter issues are finding their way to mailboxes, albeit not as quickly as normal. We fully expect the Spring 2021 issue will return to regular delivery schedules.
We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to call, write or e-mail us about the delivery delays. You have provided very helpful feedback. We plan to use this as an opportunity to learn how to better prepare for our Winter 2021-'22 issue. We're extremely grateful to produce a publication that is valued and appreciated so much throughout the heavy horse community.
Thank you for your continued support (and patience!),
the staff of The Draft Horse Journal
